Staff Requirements at Makasan


  • Camp staff must have finished 9th grade by the end of the     2009 school year.


  • Camp staffs are a mixture of high school, college, and adult –     young, middle and older aged - volunteers.  We strive to     have a mixture from all age groups.


  • Some background with children is important as camp staff     members need to be comfortable around children and     interested in forming relationships with the campers and     their families.


  • Living arrangements are either in the Makasan Retreat     Center or in tents that staff members provide.


  • Staff members need not be a member of a Presbyterian     Church to apply for staff positions at any of the  Hau Kola     Learning Camps.
